Story

First of all THANK YOU! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

OK, well after doing a few smaller races in the past I thought I'd up my game a little...so this year I have entered the 'MANCHESTER 10K RUN' which will take place on Sunday 15th May 2011.

Now anyone who knows me, knows that running isnt one of my strong points, picture Pheobe out of Friends and you're nearly there! So this is going to be the biggest thing I've done so far!

Of course I will be running for charity. Christies hospital to be exact. The reason I have chosen this is because it is a charity close to my heart. Unfortunately I have known someone who has had to deal with Cancer and so any monies raised to hopefully finding a cure one day is the biggest thing anyone could ask for.

I know there are a lot of charity events that take place these days, but anything from as little as £3 per friend could raise upto a whopping £300!!!

To make things a little more juicy, I have decided that whoever sponsors me the most money (collectively & paid for) before midnight of the 14th May 2011, I will make you an 10" Sponge cake of your own design completely FREE!
(Cake terms are as follows: The total donated MUST be of the same name to count. ie Joe Blogs donates £10 then at a later date Joe Blogs donates £5 this will be £15 in total. If MRS Joe Blogs donates this will NOT count towards Mr Joe Blogs donation and will be a seperate entry. The winner will have a choice of chocolate or plain sponge & jam filling. The winner will get a 10" cake round or square of your choice. The design is completely up to the winner. The winner will have paid all sponsor monies BEFORE midnight of the 14th May 2011, you can still sponsor after that deadline but it will not count towards this cake comp. All monies raised are for my chosen charity, Christies hospital. Just to clarify I am not making any profit from doing this cake. If there happens to be a joint winner I will put names in a hat and draw out 1 winner only with video footage as proof. I will deliver the cake within my local area inc. Manchester. For anyone living further afield can either arrange own collection or donate the cake to someone close to me. The cake must be made for a date between June & December 2011, subject to cake orders I already have.)

David is also going to sponsor me £1 for every Lb I lose in weight from now (Jan 2011) until the race (he is excluded from the cake competition!) So I need to be getting some good training in for that!

Donating is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
