I have a 3 year old son who has severe cerebral palsy as well as epilepsy,spastic quadraplegia,multi sensory impairement,gastrostomy fed and dislocated hips.my son was well at birth and developed all the above problems at 4 months old due to a rare reaction to chickenpox.
we have attended bobath two years in a row now and the programme they developed for peter makes a huge dfference to his every day life,the stretches have enabled him to use his arms on his own which may sound normal to you but when you rely on someone else moving you it gives the child some understanding of their own body.
i believe everyone should give a little back to society as we take too much for granted and you dont realise how lucky you are till you have a tragedy.
