The Shipwrecked Mariners' Society provides financial help to merchant seafarers, fishermen and their dependants. In the last year the Society paid out over £1.3 million in charitable grants in nearly 1,800 cases and it received over 600 new applications for assistance. Thank you for your support.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and thank you for sponsoring me.

Well I did it.  It took me 2 hrs and 48 minutes, which is not a gazelle pace, but I did come 11665th out of 18867 so it doesn't seem so bad knowing I was nowhere near the last!  - Ran all the way too.

I have selected this particular charity courtesy of my Dad.  Anyone who has known me since School days will know he is the last of a line of ocean going Johnsons, and as a former Merchant seaman himself, likes to support these charities when he can.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners' Royal Benevolent Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

The webpage will be live for three months after the event, so there is still a chance to sponsor me, if you didn't get around to it before the race.

Cheers to everyone who did though!

Cath xx
