Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing specialist, palliative care and support to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and ultimately end of life care.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I am doing the half-marathon Midnight Walk for St Luke's Hospice on Saturday 28th June because of the wonderful care they gave to my friend Ali Stephens.  Ali lived  just accross the street from us and her baby (also called Matthew) is just 3 months younger than mine.  It was great to have a friend so nearby to share cups and tea and the trials and tribulations of being a new mum.  But in September, Ali was diagnosed with breast cancer and despite every effort, she died at St Lukes Hospice in February.

Ali and I were often walking about at midnight feeding our babies, so it somehow seems appropriate to do this walk in her memory , and to raise money for the hospice which allowed her last moments to be peaceful.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
