Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

I am going to Iceland in August 2009 for a week of hardcore trekking to support Amnesty International. In particular, I will be supporting WOZA- Women of Zimbabwe Arise - http://www.wozazimbabwe.org/. The walk is no picnic. We will be walking for up to 9 hours a day and camping. Whatever criticisms we have of our Government, we are free to voice them. This is not the case in many parts of the world. Amnesty International aims to raise awareness of human rights abuses and to support those who suffer because of them. Look no further than Guantanamo Bay to see how vital their work is.
