Douglas Macmillan Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults across North Staffordshire and bordering areas, who have cancer and other life limiting illnesses, completely free of charge . The Hospice needs to raise over £7 million each year and with no association with any national charity or organisation bearing a similar name, the Hospice is dependent upon the continuing generosity of our supporters.

My story

After years of watching it and wishing I was there I've decided that it's now or never and have signed up to run in the London marathon!

Training is going well but nothing could have prepared me for the combination of 6am starts, aching muscles and freezing weather conditions.

I'm running for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice as it supports many families in Stoke-on-Trent at the time they need it most. It is also a charity close to my heart as I will always remember the help and support it gave us when my mum died of cancer in 1998.

I'm hoping to raise lots of money for this great charity and would really appreciate it if you'd help make those long runs easier by giving as much as you can...
