Story

Dear Friends and Families,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Catherine laid rest peacefully in the Lord's arms on 12 March 2011 morning at 0555hrs at home, after a 2 years 7 months brave battle with the illness. Her illness worsened on the 7th March and on 8th March she was admitted to the St Luke's Hospice Kenton for palliative care. She was given home leave on 11th March afternoon, upon self request. All the while, it was her wish to spend the last moment of her life at home in her own bed. She had finally fulfilled her wish.

Catherine was comfortably and respectably looked after by all the nurses and doctor whilst staying at St Luke's Hospice Kenton. I am sure that any visitors (friends and families) who had visited Catherine at the Hospice would feel overwhelmingly supportive by the hospitality of the staff and the caring attitude of all the nurses and doctors.

St Luke's Hospice aims at giving high quality palliative care to patients suffering terminal illness and to help them achieve the best possible quality of life for every single moment. At the same time, they also provide high quality supportive care to carers.

St Luke's costs about 5 million to run a year, with over 3.5 millions raised by the local community through fundraising. It is my own experience with the care of the Hospice when Catherine was cared for by St Luke's that inspired me to help raising fund for St Luke's.

Catherine's funeral service will be held on the 26th March 2011 at the Pinner Free Church and then followed by burial service at the Northwood Cemetery. I understand you will all like to send flowers to her funeral. But I would eanestly appeal to you not to send flowers but just donate the money to St Luke's. Your donation will make a great difference to help those who are in need to go to the Hospice. Though Catherine has departed for Heaven, I am sure she would too be tremendously supportive to this cause.

My sincere thanks to you all for the generosity!

God Bless,

P.S. The first 5 photos posted here were taken in 1972 summer when Catherine paid her first visit to UK & Europe. She was then 23 years old. We started dating eversince and got married on 18th March 1974. Our son Adrian was born in December the same year.
