Story

Welcome to Catholic Today's fundraising page.

Catholic Today , the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Birmingham, and CAFOD are once again working together to raise money for the people of Zimbabwe.

This year we have a team of over 20 runners taking part in the Great North Run on September 20.

The people of Zimbabwe need our help like never before.  They have been exposed to the ravages of hunger, disease and ignorance in both rural and urban areas. The situation in this country has reached such desperate proportions and new depths of despair and desperation are being plumbed every day.

Today, right now, millions of Zimbabweans continue to face the challenge of feeding their families and simply surviving.   They live in a country which is collapsing around them and their needs are now basic and urgent: food, water, medicine, hospitals, midwifery clinics as well as education and public health.

Please help us raise the funds needed to support CAFOD’s vital work and make a real difference to people’s lives.

A big thank you from all of us at Catholic Today to all our runners for their commitment and generosity, as well as to everyone who has donated to this worthy cause.
