I started running a year ago and completed my first 10k in May. Since then I have been well and truly bitten with the running bug and have decided to try for my first 1/2 marathon and raise money for the Beatson Oncology Centre. As many of you will know my dad has been receiving treatment there since last January and the care he has received has been second to none. He is now undergoing a clinical trial and we all hope and pray that this buys him more time.
I have been really dedicated to my training and my dad has been my inspiration throughout as no matter how tough I sometimes find it, I think of the gruelling treatments my dad has gone through which has been really hard on him and my mum and no matter how knackered I feel ,thinking of the incredibly positive way they are both dealing with the situation just spurs me on.
So please sponsor me and enable me to give something back as a way of saying thank you to all the wonderful people who work at the Beatson and the incredible work they do.
