Battersea Park Memory Walk · 22 September 2013 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thank you for supporting me to take part in Memory Walk this year and raise much needed funds for Alzheimer's Society.

All of the money I raise will help support people living with dementia and their families, so your donation will make a huge difference.

Just £50 will pay for someone with dementia to go to a Dementia Café session every week for a month, where they can meet others, share experiences and feel less isolated. And the more I raise, the bigger the difference it will make.

I am raising money to support this charity because it has affected both sides of my family. My Dad's Mum, my beloved Nanna Pease, and my Grandfather's partner, Pauline Midgely, have both been affected by this horrible, degenerative disease and we have witnessed their rapid decline. While my Nanna is still spritely and relatively happy, she doesn't know who most of her family are. Pauline has declined so rapidly and has been affected more severely than Nanna, which is incredibly upsetting for my Grandfather.

Thank you so much for your support.

With much love
