Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are four mothers - Emma, Julia, Fiona and Amanda - who will be swapping the school run for a much tougher journey this autumn; a three day trek across the Atlas Mountains, where we are hoping to reach the summit of Mt Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak, which stands at 14,000ft. This means 10-12 hours of trekking each day.
Nearly five years ago, Emma's dear friends, Louise and Paul, lost their adored two year old twins - Betsy & William (opposite) in a tragic accident whilst playing at home. Since then, The Child Bereavement Charity has been instrumental in supporting them, and their remaining family, by helping them to cope with and manage their loss, and provide them with the understanding and professional support that they so desperately need.
The CBC is a largely voluntary organisation, and relies heavily on fund raising and donations to support the much-needed work and counselling that people like Paul and Louise, and many more families like them, rely on so much. There are, as we know, countless charities supporting research and equipment for various illnesses, but the CBC is one of the very few that support us when the final outcome is unfavourable.
