The Sportsman's Charity, which has distributed nearly £2.5m since 1983, raises money through events for projects involving disabled sport, youth and social inclusion. Its distributions are made to other, smaller charitable organisations working in these fields.

Story

The Event - Ceilidh.  Fulham Town Hall, London. 14 October 2006

I am a 31 year old from Edinburgh who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in October 2003.  Me and my friends began fundraising last year with the aim of supporting Motor Neurone Disease charities and also trying to give some impetus to the research effort.  So far we have raised over £300,000 from events including a charity dinner, a 200k bike ride, a cross channel swim, a sponsored walk, and a boxing night.

We have planned an evening of Scottish dancing in the centre of London.  Our aim is to organise a fun evening and to raise some money for the cause.  It will be a gathering of around 400 people and all are welcome.

We would like to thank all those who have generously contributed to our charities and welcome those interested in upcoming events to take part.
