Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK (formerly CMT United Kingdom) is the national support group for people affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, aka Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathy. We provide advice, support and information for people with the condition, family, carers and medical professionals.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and please sponsor me online.

Over three days I will be cycling from Whitehaven to Sunderland. A total distance of 140 miles travelling through the northern Lake District, onto the Penines before heading down into the Durham Dales and onwards to the coast again (i.e lots of hills!).

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CMT United Kingdom will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Charcot Marie Tooth Disease (CMT) is a condition that affects the nerves in the legs and arms causing muscle wastage.  Although not life threatening it affects people very differently, even within the same family, slowly getting worse over time causing gradual deterioration of the both the motor nerves and the sensory nerves.

CMT UK provide invaluble support for families and carers of the condition, a service from which my family has benefitted greatly as both my mum and myself have the condition.

Many thanks for your support
