My story

As D-day fast approaches and the nerves are well and truly beginning to set in, it is with hope and anticipation that you too will join in our conquest.....albeit from the safety of your P.C's!!

Commencing on Sunday 24th July, a small but dedicated group of us are trekking from Dingle Bay, on the west coast of Ireland, to the heady heights of Pen Y Fan in Mid Wales, trying to raise awareness of and fundraising for research into the debilitating disease that is SMA

We will all be going to some very dark places in our minds during this gruelling 560km challenge over 5 days, and we all hope that the effort will be well rewarded by you digging deep into your pockets and donating as much as possible.

The Challenge ahead:

1)Cycle 325km acroos Ireland Dingle Bay to Rosslare

2)Row 90km across the Irish Sea for Rosslare to Fishguard

3)Cycle and Hike 145km from Fishguard to the top of Pen-y-fan

Although the size of our challenge is truly daunting, but one that we will overcome, it truly pales in relation to the daily suffering of the families and children afflicted with this disease.

Please take time to read about the dreadful disease that is SMA below .......

SMA stands for Spinal Muscular Atrophy

SMA is a devastating, genetic disease. It is a leading genetic killer of infants and toddlers, with 50% of the most severely diagnosed cases resulting in death by the age of two. Children with a less severe form of SMA face the prospect of progressive muscle wasting, loss of mobility and motor function. But their minds are unaffected resulting in bright, intelligent children with varying degrees of physical impairment.

SMA is currently incurable
