Have you ever stopped to think about the  issues young carers face on a daily basis?    Young carers’ are children under the age of 18 who look after someone in their family who has an illness, a disability, a mental health problem or a substance misuse problem, taking on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities that would normally be expected of an adult.

As a Regional Team and continuing the 24/7 theme, we are cycling 24 miles around Rutland Water on tandem bikes

24th July 2009- Event One

As a region we are supporting the Princes Trust Young Carers charity. To raise money and recognise the fact they care 24 hours a day 7 days a week; we between us walked 24 miles in teams dressed up as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the 24th July.

Being a young carer impacts on all aspects  of a child’s development and well being.

But it doesn’t have to be this way….
