Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
UPDATE! I successfully complete the Liverpool Half Marathon in 1 hour 52 minutes and 14 seconds. New picture upload of me at the Finish should be available!
Please continute to donate if you can - the level of sponsorship I have received so far is staggering!
As for the race, I was paced around by a friend from the Penny Lane Striders running club (where I run). I averaged 8:23/mile for the 1/2 Marathon - which is further, faster and longer than I have ever run before! Extremely painful last 3.45 miles down the Promenade concluded a very enjoyable race! Roll on next year :)
6 months ago I could barely run continuously for 30 secs before needing to stop and rest. I was shocked at how unfit I was and was determined to start making a difference to my life by becoming fit again.
Now I am at a stage, despite set backs, of being able to consider running the 13 miles that a Half Marathon consists of. The fact that this opportunity was dashed at Christmas with an injury to my knee, meaning that I decided not to enter the race, the ensuing recovery and now the possibility to actually take part has inspired me to run and also to return something to the life and people that have affected me and supported me through my time in Liverpool. To this end I have now entered the Liverpool Half Marathon on March 18th 2012. http://www.runliverpool.org.uk/
The Organ at Liverpool Cathedral is world famous. It inspired me to want to sing at Liverpool Cathedral and continues too. It is in need of extensive maintenance and, whilst the target of nearly £1 million is a huge amount, chipping away at the block day by day will allow this magnificent piece of 20th Century engineering to inspire and affect future generations.

I am sure that everyone will give as generously as they can in these hard times. All support is gratefully received - and you can be sure I will be making sure it is well deserved by pushing as hard as I can during the 2 potentially gruelling hours it will take me to complete the course.
I look forward to receiving your donation and thank you both personally and also from all involved with the Organ Appeal at Liverpool Cathedral.
