My story

This Summer I'll be running my first ever marathon, cycling across Europe from gamescom in Cologne to Brighton before heading strait to Gilbratar where i'll be swimming to North Africa.

Yes that's right folks that's six countries, two continents, one bike and a whole lot of miles in less hours than 100 hours. It's going to be tough no doubt about it. I'm not very good at running, have a fear of open water and am going to need to complete the cycling in record time to make the tides from the south of Spain.

There will be danger! French lorries, whizzing past as I speed to the port in Dieppe, sharks, killer whales and rough waters in the deepest section of the mediteranean not to mention blisters and severely chapped lips on the run.

There will be drama! Last year my bike was lost over the channel and I spilt yoghurt all over my saddle as soon as we set out from Germany.

There will be coverage! Last year MCV and Bike Radar followed our antics, this year there'll be more media whoring in a bid to raise awareness for the great charities for which I'm doing all this; Games Aid, (the British videogames industry's charity) and campaign charity The Global Poverty Project.

So dig deep folks I don't intend to do this ever again it's going to take upwards of 18 hours of training a week for the next nine months and given the shark, that's right I said SHARK infested waters off north Africa I may never get the chance.
