After last years successful charity triathlon, I have managed to get a few friends to join me for this seasons effort. Its bigger, better and tougher than last year so please dig deep and be generous.
After the club brought the title home last year and with it a world record breaking 52 league titles its only fitting that this year we have named our challenge for season 09/10 the Champions Challenge. The team has eight members, they are Allan Pattison, Colin Leggat, Iain Renfrew, Neil Andrew, Derek Scrafton, Graham Harron and Steven Kattenhorn.
We are again doing a tri-athlon but with a Scottish twist to it this year. The event will take place on Saturday 3rd April to coincide with Rangers last home game before the split and will be set in and around Loch Lomond!
We plan to start early morning but climbing then descend Ben Lomond before jumping into the icy Loch Lomond and swimming across it before jumping onto the bike and cycling from the banks of Loch Lomond back to Ibrox. We plan to finish trackside at half time in Ibrox Stadium!
We are again taking on this challenge for Rangers Charity Foundation, who continue to do excellent work locally in Greater Glasgow with their community partner, country wide with their national partner and world wide with the special relationship with UNICEF. To date the foundation have helped thousands of good causes and given well over a million pounds of support to charity. Your donation will help to change even more lives for the better!
Email the team at lomondchallenge@aol.com and check out the foundations great work at www.rangerscharity.org.uk!
