Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·
Dominic and I will be running/struggling my way through the Virgin London Marathon in April 2015 for Caritas Anchor House.
The famous run highlights the glitz and glamour of London, running through all the historic landmarks: St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Canary Wharf and the like. However, residents and staff here know there is another side to London, particularly in Caritas Anchor House's base, the East End.
Caritas Anchor House are striving forwards within the charity sector trying to change this, although it is no mean feat. It is a residential and life skill centre for homeless people where the aim is to address the root causes of homelessness, and create sustainable solutions that ensure the people we help will never find themselves in that situation again.
All the funds raised from the run will go towards helping some of the most marginalised and vulnerable members of our community. In the past year alone, Caritas Anchor House provided a home and security to 232 otherwise homeless people, helped 64 into independent living, and 86 in to jobs. But they want to do more!
I hope that you can support us through the 26 miles and consider making a charitable donation towards this campaign, raising invaluable funds for a vital organisation. If you are so generous to donate, please don't forget to Gift Aid.
