Channel Relay Swim · 28 May 2009

In August 2016, Depression Alliance merged with Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Money you donate here will be used exclusively for services previously run by Depression Alliance, e.g. Friends in Need.

Story

NOTICE- We did it! Thanks for all your support. We swam the channel in 12 hours and 50 minutes. Still fundraising though!

You can read more about the swim on Lucy's blog.

As a team of six, we will be swimming the chilly channel this September in support of Depression Alliance. Depression Alliance is the leading charity for people with depression and does four wonderful things:

- support networks of all shapes and sizes to ensure that those who need help can find the type that they need when they need it
- direct action to push for change in the healthcare profession and in government
- research to stay at the cutting edge of the field
- raising awareness to cure the vicious circle that exists between stigma and depression

We have been very generously sponsored by Zoggs.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Depression Alliance gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks to Ian Wilson for the image.
