The Dodoma Channel Swim · 9 June 2009

Jesuit Missions is the international development and mission office of the Jesuits in Britain. For over 50 years it has supported vulnerable communities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Story

Mark Sexton, an Old Ignatian and a parent to two current Ignatians, has undertaken this amazing challenge: to swim the English Channel. He will be raising funds for the education of AIDS orphans at our sister school in Dodoma, Tanzania.

This challenge is the biggest yet. Did you know that more people have climbed Everest than have swum the Channel?

Mark is currently training really hard for this challenge and he realises that the more money he raises the more opportunities he creates for Tanzanian AIDS orphans.

Every £125 raised will educate one orphan for one year at our sister school.

If we reach our target, we will transform the lives of many children as we 'make a difference' to their lives.

You can keep a track of Mark's journey to the Channel by following his blog:
