The Fresh 'n' Lo Great Scottish Run 10k 2009 · 6 September 2009 ·
Hello, thanks for taking the time to visit my page! I have decided to take part in The Great Scottish Run 10k and I am hoping to raise a useful amount of money to donate to Yorkhill Childrens Foundation. Im training hard for it on a daily basis as I hope to get a decent time on the day of the run. At the moment I'm building myself up with short runs and my best time the now is 2 miles in 22 mins, good base to start from I think :)
Yorkhill Children’s Foundation aims to provide all the “extra” services and equipment which make a child’s stay in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill in Glasgow less distressing. These can include innovative medical equipment, improvements in child and family facilities and paediatric research and training.
Scanners, incubators, ventilators, monitors and many more examples of equipment, services and research have been added to the hospital’s resources. All are at work helping to put smiles back on children’s faces.
Despite all their successes, they still have huge challenges to meet every year. There are many wards, departments and professionals throughout the hospital who depend on their support. Lack of funds within the NHS is well documented and sadly, sick children rely on our help.
