HM Tower of London

Charles Messenger served for 20 years in the Royal Tank regiment. Since retiring from the Army he has become a prolific military historian and written over forty military history books.

The 8 Service Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers was a service battalion of Kitchener's new Army existed for three and a half years, between its formation from volunteers to its disbandment in January 1918. Most of our lectures have been about battles. This will be about the Londoners who fought in some of the largest battles. It seems right that at least one of our lectures should focus on the stories of the men who belonged to the Royal Fusiliers, whose museum have hosted our talks.

If you would like to attend this lunchtime talk, please make a donation of £25 for each attendee (£20 for members of the Battlefields Trust) and email your name, contact number and any special requirements (dietary/mobility) to helen@battlefieldstrust.org On receipt, email confirmation will be sent together with directions to the venue. If you have any questions, please ring 0207 387 6620. We look forward to welcoming you.
