Our objective is simple: 'Building Better Futures' for young adults with autism, by providing bespoke employment training and work experience. Training takes place at The Autism Trust & Polly's Place in Camberley, which sells handmade gifts & art created by people with autism & their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have encountered autism on a number of times in my life.  Most immediately, my sister has an autistic son who is almost 11.  When he was two years old he lost the power of speech suddenly, over the course of just a few days.  Although he is sweet-natured, he has remained so-called 'non-verbal' ever since and will always need hands-on care.  Caring for him is Hurculean and there is little or no support for families with severely autistic children.  The Autism Trust works to create communities (sometimes in rural settings) where autistic children can be cared for and take some of the pressure off their families.

I have decided to focus this run on raising what I can for this charity and anything you contribute will be most appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
