This summer I am planning to ride from London to Paris in 3 days to raise money for Odyssey.
Cancer is a disease we have all been touched by. When sufferers are diagnosed with cancer, their lives are changed irrevocably. Odyssey helps them to move beyond a time of introspection and despair and regain a sense of control of the next stage of their lives. The idea is rooted in a great depth of experience of the use of the outdoors to help individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The charity firmly believes that time spent in the natural environment has a beneficial effect on people no matter what their background or experience. It also believes that access should not be limited by financial considerations so sufficient funds are raised to enable us to offer all places at no cost to the participant.
Jenny, a friend of mine, has been battling with cancer for 7 years and has found the courses, run by Odyssey, she has attended exceptionally helpful. I would like to support a charity that has helped her so much.
Odyssey is a small charity - it has no permanent staff or office. It relies heavily on the goodwill of volunteers and money from donations. A small donation can go a long way.
So, its time for me to dust down the lycra, get the bike out (not the folding bike!) and get pedalling!!
