Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 20th January 1987 my eldest son Andrew died from Meningococcal Septicaemia. He was 18 months old, could walk and talk just a few words. He was very outgoing and would love to shout "hiya" to people as they were walking past him when he was being pushed in his trolley.
Andrew was a lovely little boy, he was quite stocky, full of fun and was adored and dearly loved by a lot of people. In the short period of time that he was here, he made his mark on life and I am very proud to be his dad. I was absolutely devastated when he died ,in fact it is something that I have never come to terms with although I will say that time heals.
Over the years I have been involved in fund raising and counselling bereaved parents.
This year it is 21 years since Andrew passed away and a vaccine for type B Meningitis has yet to be found although it is very close. With your help we can change this. If we can help save one life it will all have been worth while!
On November 2nd 2008 my wife Sandi and I will run in Andrew's memory in the ING New York Marathon to raise funds for Meningitis Research Foundation. We have been training for this since the end of January and are now 16 weeks into an 18 week intensive training schedule.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Meningitis Research Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
