HI Folks!!!
I’m running the Virgin London Marathon to help speed treatment for Rett syndrome. Rett is a horrible condition which attacks toddlers and takes away their speech, mobility and the use of their hands leaving them with severe, lifelong disabilities and medical problems often needing full time care. There is no cure as yet but research shows that a cure is within reach.
Like most people, sometimes I take it for granted that I’m healthy and able to do anything I set my mind to. I recently met a girl with Rett, Beth, who is pictured with me in the photo. Meeting her made me even more motivated to raise the funds needed to find a cure. I’ve done heaps of different races and challenges before but this is the only one i have done for charity. Running is the easy part-this time, the real challenge will be getting as many people as possible to support my efforts by donating just £2 or more.
If I get the most donations between now and 17th of April, I could win an additional £1000 to help accelerate treatment for Rett Syndrome. Even if I don’t win, the more people who pass the word around, the more people will find out about Rett Syndrome, what it does and how they can help RSRT UK drive the science forward.
Thank you.
