Hi everyone,

Thanks again for all your support so far :)

especially anyone who fed and watered us on our journey last year....The cycle was amazing, we stopped at..........................

Chessington (Thanks to the Randall family :))

Gerards Cross :( Scary scarry night !!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Aylesbury (Thanks to Mimi and family :) )

Flitwick (Thanks to Ben & Joe's Dad :) who took us in and looked after our camping gear that was not fit to complete the journey with us Thanks Pete for that and amazing Merrily for arranging for us to cycle off course to leave it there so we could complete our journey. :)

Towcester Travelodge not too good but no tent so beggars could not be choosers but it cost so much for so little :( little chef was good though :)

Lutterworth, that's where we met Phil & Mollie who saved us after learning that our accomodation was booked for the following day by mistake and everywhere else close was full. We chatted all night Mollie cooked us a good meal and her home was very friendly we visiyed and had a tour around the church late at night. We had a good breakfast again cooked by Mollie enjoyed sitting in her garden a while and set off for Loughborough,,,Father Philip was very kind and was going to let us sleep in the church hall but we got there a day late because we had to abandon our camping gear, so he had a list of B&B's for us but...that is when the Vu family stepped in we had such a great night staying at there's They bought us an amzing take away and we joined their family for the meal after Mass :) Then we cycled on to Southwell to meet up with my old mates from Primary school Ben & Joe used to go to my school too we had great fun with them we had an amazing time in one of the NATIONAL TRUST gardens playing all day and a lovely picnic Merrily made us and we were supposed to go to the Nottingham Dungeons but they were closed for Maintenance or something. Then we went to Doncater, We were wearing our Brighton football Tops and we asked some people for directons and they sent us in totally the wrong direction, Luckily a Nun in the shop questioned why we were going down the road when we needed to head to the other side of town me and my Mum thought she was wrong so I checked back in the best Resaurant in town Carlos and the waiter there walked with us to get back on track. after the owner opened the restaurant just for us and they cooked us a meal and gave us drinks for FREE Nadia the owner was really nice and said she saw us on TV I will go back ther one day :) Then we stayed in a Travelodge that was nice in Selby....I will write some more soon

Message from Charlie's Mum, A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED IN ANYWAY Charlie and I had a great experience whilst cycling through England to tell as many people as possible about the simplicity of Marys Meals and the difference all the loose change can make! if you agree please continue to talk of Marys Meals and pass the message on.

We are back home now, as Charlie's Nanna passed away unexpectantly as we crossed the boarder of Scotland, So those last few miles were a little tougher, but Nanna's love of children kept us focused to the finish line!

Charlie kept a wonderful little journal and intends to update this page very soon, for now we're just taking a little time out for eachother!

We could not have done it without the care, laughs and encouragement from all you guys!

Together we are making a difference :)

ADVENTURE IN NOTTINGHAM! LOOKING FORWARD TOTHE CAVES.

A quick re-cap of our week :)

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAVE DONATED OR SUPPORTED US SO FAR:)

Hi the whether is boiling 2 day and it has been fun and as u know all these things have happens:
Lots of nice people:-)Hills. Wheel came off, cycle paths not wide enough for trailer at times so have to retreat:-(punctures,mum's light got run over by a bus.lost safely flag. I lost my new milometre:-(one of mums panniers came off. I fell off my bike coming down a hill,I'm fine just a little shaken and scapped:-(got a bit distracted on route yesterday and passed through Woburn safari park AMAZING:-):-) decided after mum dragging the trailer 120 miles to abandon! as it's not designed to go down hill at speed and the velcro fasteners to hold every thing in place are wearing away with the friction of the wheel rubbing against it, so for safety reasons it's bye bye to most of our belongings and we'll have to make Do for the rest of the way, And I keep singing my way through and a great encouragement:-) says my Mum :)
Special Thanks to Molly Phil Julian Dan Emily Liem Nam Mai-lan for welcoming us into their homes .

JUST ARRIVED AT MERRILY, BEN AND JOE'S HOME @ ROBIN HOOD COUNTRY in Nottingham for a few days! bring on the water fights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder if We'll see any bats at the caves today? at the Nottingham City of caves.

THANK YOU AGAIN

PLEASE ASK ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO SEE IF THEY WILL SPONSOR ME, MOST OF MINE ARE TIRED OF SPONSORING ME FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT CAUSES-----THEY SEE ME AND RUN :) BUT I RUN FASTER :) THANKS EVERYONE from your friend Charlie Doherty

I've got a lot to catch up on and heres a quick breaf I did run the mini mile and got 43 runners in my team to raise money for marys meals! but I did have 47 runners but due to injuries some couldn't do it I have cycled/walked to brighton lots of times prepare for the Scot walk, and we still do plan to walk/cycle to Scotland in the summer! Hoping to pass Nottingham and pass the robin hood fest and have the take the phrase borrowing from the rich to feed the poor! (12/6/11) Thanks to everyone who donated @ my birthday party and a huge Thank You to the support of K2 CRAWLEY who supported us for the run and my Birthday BASKETBALL MATCH. THANKS AGAIN!

On Tuesday 4th January 2011 the last day of our Christmas holidays, my Mum and I WALKED from Crawley to Brighton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!A HUGE THANK YOU TO THOSE THAT SPONSORED US ALSO TO THE REALLY REALLY FUN AND KIND PEOPLE THAT WORK IN THE...THE BRIGHTON MARATHON OFFICE WHO GAVE US A GREAT WELCOME AS WE CROSSED THE FINISH LINE(in their office)...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE GOODIE BAG AND EVERYTHING! When my mum and I past the Brighton pillars we were still bouncing about with fun and energy, but as soon a we passed the plants which spelt out welcome, we couldn't move but I think its because we had reached our target and our bodies just gave up, the last 3 miles to the seafront was amazingly tough, BUT I am hoping we improve and are able to walk and cycle to Scotland from Brighton in the six weeks summer holidays. So please sponsor us what you can, and tell your friends about the 1000 children who need to be fed from the kitchen I funraised for in Malawi so we just need 1000 people to donate £6.15 ONCE to feed a child everyday for a year!

PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT!

best wishes Charlie.J.Doherty

......THANK YOU ...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU ...THANK YOU.....

SO MANY SMALL THINGS AND SUPPORT FROM GREAT PEOPLE HELPED ME SUCCEED TO GET MY GOAL!

NOW I'M TRYING TO FEED EVERY CHILD IN THE SCHOOL FOR A YEAR. NOW IF YOU COULD JUST DONATE £6.15 IT WILL FEED ONE CHILD PLEASE DONATE AND SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR FRIENDS. THANKS! I NEED TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE HELPING AS POSSIBLE TO FEED THE APRROXIMATELY 950 PUPILS...WE'VE ALL DONE SO WELL ALREADY TO GET THE KITCHEN SO PLEASE TRY TO HELP ME FEED THEM. Thanks Charlie Joseph Doherty.

Oh I nearly forgot to tell you I did manage to cycle from Crawley to Brighton it was tough as I got a puncture, but also my mum and I had a great time and my mum was really really pleased to have been able to do it. I will get pictures on here as soon as I can! A big thank you to the four people that helped half way with my puncture Ben Chris and the girls THANK YOU!

Please can you help me reach my target of £6000.00 by July to pay for the kitchen so that I can start working on funding the children in the school to be fed so others supporters can feed more children in need. It cost less than 2p to feed a child in Malawi for a day. Mary's meals vision is that every hungry child will receive at least one meal a day. Mary's meals is committed to spending at least 93p of every pound donated on feeding the children. mary's meals IS a simple solution to world hunger. Whatever you can afford to give will help. Thank You!I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE MARYS MEALS WAY OF LIFE WHILST I WAS ON PILGRIMAGE TO A PLACE WHICH IS A BIT LIKE HEAVEN (I THINK) LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE AND PEACE THERE! IT'S CALLED MEDUGORJE. MAGNUS (HE STARTED MARY MEALS) WENT THERE WHEN HE WAS A 14 YEAR OLD BOY, HE IS A MAN NOW. I WILL MEET WITH HIM ONE DAY WHEN I AM OLDER. anyway IT COST JUST £6.15 TO FEED A CHILD EVERYDAY FOR A YEAR THROUGH THE SCHOOLS PROJECT., (less than it costs for my mum to buy one cinema ticket for me to see one film in 3D!CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!) I HAVE RASIED ENOUGH TO FEED 100 CHILDREN EVERYDAY FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS I WANT TO KEEP DOING THAT BUT I ALSO WANT TO BUY A KITCHEN SO ANOTHER MEALS TEAM CAN BE SET UP. IT COST £6000.00 COMPLETE AND READY TO GO WITH LOCAL PEOPLE HELPING TO MAKE IT WORK. SINCE I WAS FOUR I HAVE ASKED FOR MONEY INSTEAD OF PRESENTS FOR MY BIRTHDAY TO HELP PEOPLE LIKE THE CHILDREN WHO GET FED BECAUSE OF MARYS MEALS. WHATEVER YOU CAN DONATE WILL BE VERY VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! I have now met Magnus and some of his family who are great and am absolutely fasinated that in 2002 he started with a plan and enough money to feed 200 children and today he is responsible for \a team of people feeding over 390,000 children on a daily basis in a place of education which will \help their future so they can help themself more. I cannot even imagine 390,000 people but that is how many are being fed. In the half term I am going to cycle to Brighton with my Mum from Crawley..my Mum is really really nervous but I am really looking forward to the challenge.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOVE CHARLIE X
