My story

Treetops Ripple Appeal.

Hello, I’m Charlotte Flint.

I am a 16 year old student atOckbrookSchool.

This year our school has chosen Treetops Hospice as one of its charities to support, and Kate Shaw of Treetops spoke to us about all the work done by their unpaid army of volunteers.

She told us of the Ripple Appeal, trying to raise £2 million to extend the facilities at Treetops.

Imagine the coincidence when flicking through the local ‘Inside72’ magazine when I saw a “Wanted” advert for “Adventurous People” to do a 10,000ft freefall parachute jump on behalf of the Treetops Ripple Appeal.

Treetops have always figured in my life because it is a local charity and as such there is always a lot of local events taking place to raise much needed funds, plus a family friend and her husband have been fund raising and working for Treetops for as long as I can remember. Sadly she died late last year.

I feel destined to take up this challenge for the Ripple Appeal, in memory of my friend Olive Eagle.

I’ve never done anything so frightening before and wonder if I’ve gone a little crazy.

But I’ve managed to get my dad to pay the deposit (which is already quite an achievement) so there is no turning back now.

The jump will be at Langer Airfield on Sunday March 22nd 2009.

I need as much support as possible to raise lots of money for Treetops Ripple so please sponsor me on the attached form.

Thank You.

Charlotte J
