When John suggested that we cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats I thought he was mad. When I agreed to do it he thought I was mad too, and that he had the best fiancee in the world ever. And so it began... We're starting in Cornwall on Saturday 21st June, and over a three week period we will be getting saddle sore, climbing hills, meeting locals, taking photos, getting lost, camping, and relentlessly heading north until we reach John O'Groats. That's right - camping. Not only will we be doing 50-60 miles every day for three weeks in all weather on heavily loaded bikes, but we will also be sleeping on teeny tiny roll mats under canvas every night, wondering 'what that noise was' and trying to summon the courage to go to the loo. We're even missing the British Grand Prix. So you see, you really should sponsor us. A holiday it's won't be. There will be pain. There will be arguments. So please make it all worthwhile and give as much as you can afford to the lovely people at Cancer Research UK in memory of someone special. This is for Grandad Scott, for Angie, for Kate, and for Auntie Dot and several other people I know who are fighting it. I'm sure you and your family have been touched by this awful disease too - let's do something about it. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! John is cycling in aid of the Bristol Drugs Project, a charity equally close to his heart, so please feel free to split your donation between us, give your £50 (!) to which ever one of us is lagging behind on the fundraising, or to the charity that means the most to you.
Many thanks for your support, we really appreciate it.
