Later this summer, I’m going to be riding from Land’s end to John O’Groats, a distance of 874 miles.
Most riders take about a fortnight to do this route, so just to make it harder, I’m going to be riding it with an amateur race team, as fast as we can go. We’re aiming to make it in six days at an average of nearly 150 miles a day.
The purpose of the ride is to raise money for the Bishop Simeon Trust, an incredibly important charity that does vital work supporting the most disadvantaged people in South Africa . After the fall of apartheid in 1994, poverty and HIV/AIDS are chronic in many parts of the country and BST need every penny that they can get to run their amazing projects.

All of the expenses for the race have already been met by corporate sponsorship raised by the trust, so you can be sure that unlike a lot of charity fundraisers that people do these days, every single penny of your sponsorship will go straight to where it’s needed. My company have already made a large donation to the BST, but I need to ask for your help to meet my fundraising target.
I would be very, very grateful for whatever you can spare me. Twenty pounds doesn’t always cover a meal for two in this country, but a family in South Africa could eat for months with that sort of money.
