Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. (Updates at the bottom to see my training development!)
My goal is to run a half marathon and eventually a marathon! Since I am finishing my degree, this will give me another goal to achieve! I am very excited to run in October and esp. in London!
Dave is going to train with me--along with Isabella!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bone Cancer Research Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you so much. I appreciate all of your help and support. I will keep you posted on how I am doing!

Training:
7/13/08-- Today we ran 8.5 miles. This is the most that I have run since running 10-milers in the states (before having Isabella!). I felt really great and wasn't dead tired at all. The week before, I ran 7.5 miles. Progress is coming along and I am very happy about it! I will keep you posted. As long as I continue to feel strong, I think I will be okay! Thanks for all of your support!
7/26-- We ran 9 miles and I finished feeling pretty good. My hip was bugging me after mile 7, but I got through it. Izzy said she had a long run and was tired (how can she be tired??!). I am running a practice half marathon on Aug. 29th to get ready for the Royal Parks run in October. I am really looking forward to it and will keep you all posted!
Saturday August 2nd--I ran 10 miles today in approx. 1 hour and 36 minutes. I felt great and could have gone further but decided to work my way up. Dave and Izzy cheered me on and met me along the way with water and smiles!
Friday August 29-- Today was the half marathon on RAF Mildenhall. It was great weather and I felt really good! I finished in 2 hours 8 minutes. I used this run as a practice run and am pretty happy with my time. I am hoping to beat this time when I run in London! Dave and Izzy were there cheering me on the whole way and even ran with me part of the way! I couldn't have done it with out them! They are wonderful. My friends, Samantha, Ben and Grayson also came out to support me and I really appreciated it! I will keep you posted on the training.
September 19, 2008~ It's been about 3 weeks and I have been in some pain with my left foot. It hurts to run and I have rested and stayed off of it as much as I can. I have been substituting the ellyptical machine and the bike instead of running. I went to the doctor yesterday for the 2nd time and he said it looks like a stress fracture in my calcaneus (heel) bone of my left foot. I am waiting for a bone scan now. I still intend on running in October but wanted to give everyone an update of my injury. I am praying that I can somehow get through the run!
September 29, 2008- I had my bone scan done today and the PT doc said that there is no way that I can continue running until I am healed. I am pretty bummed out. Dave says I just need to heal.
October 7, 2008- Final word from the doc was that it is a stress fracture and that I cannot run for 6-8 weeks. They are also sending me to podiatry for a closer look. I won't be able to run for the half- marathon, but have my goal set on the Seattle Marathon next year. (I have to have a new goal to work towards!!)
