Story
In January 2012 – totally out of the blue – I was diagnosed with Grade 3 breast cancer; every woman’s nightmare. The ensuing months were spent in a haze of chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy which were pretty tough at times, but through all the gloom my friends kept me upbeat and positive, and provided consistent light and laughter in an otherwise dark and grim period. Three of those amazing friends and I are taking on the 26.2 mile challenge of the London Moonwalk on Saturday 11 May 2013 to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Without fantastic medical treatment as a result of extensive research my prognosis might have been very different – but research comes at a cost. Every penny we raise will help continue the fight against this monstrous disease, so that more women can be successfully treated – until one day, hopefully very soon, the words “breast cancer” won’t be able to strike fear into any woman of any age, anywhere.
