I had a ballot place and so was not obliged to raise any money for charity. I think its important to to follow the spirit of many thousands of competitors at the London raise to channel funds to areas of need.

For 2008 I selected the PDSA (http://www.pdsa.org.uk/aboutpdsa.html):

PDSA is a non-campaigning, non-political organisation that cares for the sick and injured animals of people in need. It is the largest private employer of fully-qualified veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses in Europe. It is the UK's leading veterinary charity, caring for more than 300,000 pet patients belonging to people in need. PDSA provides free veterinary treatment to sick and injured animals and promotes responsible pet ownership.
