Cheeky Kate did it!!
I had an absolutely amazing time trekking in Nepal. I met some very like minded people who have become dear friends. We encountered heat, rain, hail and a couple of snowball fights along the way. It was a humbling sight to see how little the Nepalese people have but their lives are extremely rich. And with a strong Welsh contingent, we weren't without song, which keeps anyone going, even the English!!!
I would like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to my dear family and friends who sponsored Dean and I - THIS WAS FOR YOU GEOFF and to stop others suffering as you did! And to Virginia, you continue to amaze and inspire me and I'm very proud to be your friend.
And unfortunately for the rest of you, it doesn't end there, as I'm planning my next trek and in Oct 12 Dean will be running his second Kielder Marathon and our daughter Abbie (6) will be competing in the junior race, all of us raising money for BEATING BOWEL CANCER!
All your donations will help raise awareness of the early symptoms of Bowel Cancer which are often ignored.
· Bowel Cancer is the UK's 2nd biggest cause of cancer deaths
· It effects almost 40,000 of us every year, men & women of all ages
· It claims 50 lives a day!
· 1 in 18 of us will get bowel cancer and, of the 100 people diagnosed everyday, almost half will die of the disease
BUT, 90% of Bowel Cancer cases can be successfully treated if diagnosed early, which is why raising awareness is so important.
Please support us and the BEATING BOWEL CANCER charity by donating as much as you can, we'll keep pestering as it's very close to our hearts and every penny will make a difference.
Thank you for your continued support.
