Story

Dear You

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As you will probably know, running a marathon is the easy part, doing it as an amputee is going to be the real challenge for me.

In doing so, I am trying to raise money for Whizz Kidz, a charity that aims to help those less mobile then ourselves. Its a worthy cause and you may wish to visit their website to see the sterling work they do.

I am under no illusions, training is hard, slow and bloody painful. I am asking people to either donate by the mile, just in case it all goes pear shaped on the day or, if you feel so inclined, then make a big bung and be done with it!! £1,500 is the aim, but there are some big hitters out there, so I am sure we can surpass that sum.

I have mainly created this site for my friends overseas and hopefully, the problems posed with currency exchange can be avoided. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Whizz-Kidz will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your time and money. From 1 January 2005 I am off the booze, so whatever happens on 17 April and wherever you are in the world, we'll raise a glass of something fizzy in unison. Many thanks, muchas gracias, merci, cheers mate!! Cheers JH
