Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've recently decided to lose all my excess weight and thought I should try to give myself a few goals along the way (as there is so much to go). As a result I have signed up to do the Glasgow 10K womans run in May. This will give me enough time to train for it.
On doing the race I have chosen to walk/ walk as fast as I can for 'Live life then Give life'. This is a charity that promotes organ donation. Its a subject that I know a lot of "people don't like to talk about" but it is one that is so important. I have chosen this specific charity as many of you will know my mum got a liver transplant at the end of 2009. She was very sick and waited for months for a suitable transplant to come up. From one of the pictures you can see she had turned yellow and needed feed through a tube. Most often when she went out she had to go in a wheelchair. Thankfully she got a liver transplant just in time and it has been successful. She has now gained weight again, eats as normal as normal is and doesn't need a wheelchair. Unfortunately not everyone gets the gift of a transplant. This is why I would love to give to 'Live life then Give life'. If more people people signed up to the organ donation register more people would have the chance of getting better.
So, onto more 'technical' terms- donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to 'Live life then Give a life' and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
