Hi! My name is Chiara Bogoni and I am a 25 year old student currently working towards a Postgraduate in "NGOs and Development Management" at the University of East London.
In August 2008, I will be spending 6 months in Honduras volunteering for a local not-for-profit organisation, working with a charity called Intercultural Youth Exchange (ICYE)
Once in Honduras, I will be working in a project dealing with social exclusion. This includes looking after orphaned, abandoned and unprivileged youths, children and their families. The main aims of this project are to improve the quality of life for many of these children and their families. I hope to be able to make a real difference to the lives of these children, as I understand that volunteers in the past have made a huge contribution to the local community through their work, and I am hoping to achieve the same.
