Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
There are lots of Carmichaels worldwide affected by breast cancer. As the 30th Chief of the name still living in Scotland at the source of our geographic name some eight centuries after it was first used , my wife and I decided to power walk the 13.1 miles of the Edinburgh city moonwalk half marathon on the night of June 20th 2009 as part of the homecoming 2009 celebrations. This wonderful walk around the city with 10000 others took us 3 hours 47 minutes and was designed to commemorate all those from our clan and our Carmichael district who have suffered in the past and help those that may do so in the future. Please help our cause, so far we have had donations from friends, family, staff, customers, clansmen and clanswomen worldwide, Members of the Scottish Parliament and other Clan chiefs. These pictures will be updated shortly to show the amazing tartan bra costumes we wore. You will not see them elsewhere. Many thanks !
My Carmichael family ancestry that resulted in my becoming the 30th Chief in 1980 is through the eldest daughter of the senior line for six generations so was very proud to wear a richly decorated Carmichael tartan bra to complete the Edinburgh moonwalk half marathon with great pride.
