WHAT I’M DOING:
Raising funds for Childline - the UK’s free and confidential, 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call Childline about a wide range of problems but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends’ welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children can call Childline about anything - no problem is too big or too small. Children is a service provided by the NSPCC.
HOW I’M DOING IT:
I’m raising funds through Childline Rocks, an independent voluntary board established to raise money through 'live music and other shenanigans’ for Childline NSPCC. I’m doing an ‘Other Shenanigan’: a 2000 mile charity road trip across the hot deserts of California, Passing through the Mojave desert where they leave airplanes to die (!) with an eclectic gang of riders doing the same. Riding from San Diego across the barren lands of Joshua Tree, along the hills of the Sequoia National Forest, with stunning views but also sheer drops! The trip will end with a fundraising gig from classic British rock band, Thunder!
(Childline Rocks is an independent voluntary board established in 2008 to raise money through direct donation to Childline NSPCC.)
I want to raise as much as I can to support desperate children when they need it most. Every little bit will make an enormous difference.
Thank you in advance for your kind donation!
