One quiet afternoon at work...zzzzzzzz... Rosie's email pops into Chloe's inbox.

"I've just followed your Marie Curie email link for challenge events....let's go to Everest base camp!"
"......?!"
Ever. est. ...5000m up a mountain? are you potty?!

Suddenly it’s two weeks later and we're convinced - to change our lives, get fit and embark on an incredible challenge to climb up to the roof of the world.

But there'd be little point in doing this without making a commitment to raise a lot of money for an amazing cause. Marie Curie nurses provide crucial care and support to people at the end of their lives, for free, at home surrounded by their family, and in specialist hospices.

We would be extremely grateful for any donation to help us reach our huge target. We are putting in our own money towards the costs of the trip to maximise the amount funding nursing care.

We think we've come up with some great ways to fundraise - and we wanted to find a way to give something back to those who support us.

For those of you who know Dickinsons well, you’ll know that we love our food...

In the Autumn we'll be starting supper clubs and other events so maybe you'd like to join us for a four course meal, with wine. Rosie will be practicing her waitressing skills , providing a night’s entertainment at no extra cost…!

Perhaps even more excitingly, we'll be writing, designing and publishing a book of our most loved family recipes. Sharing some of the food that has shaped our lives - and our waistlines - including the ultimate roast dinner, Vonnie’s jerk chicken, Anne’s amazing xmas pud and Barry’s gorgeous tarts to name just a few.
