Story

Dear all,

Having failed to get into the London Marathon, I've signed up for the BUPA London 10,000. The run starts and finishes at St. James Park and takes in the City of London and embankment.

UPDATE: The run went well and I completed the course in a time of 49.54

Apart from personal achievement, the reason I'm doing this is to raise money for the Renal Unit at Basildon Hospital.

Many of you will know that kidney disease is something that has had a direct impact on my family, with my dad currently a patient at the unit.

The Renal Unit provides treatment for inpatients; day patients (such as kidney biopsy and fistula formation); and outpatients (such as the review of blood results for patients with poor kidney function).
It currently has 140 patients receiving haemodialysis three times a week.

Any money raised will go directly to the unit to help the staff continue their fantastic service.

Thank you to everybody for your support,
Chris
