<div class="frp-message-body" style="height: auto;"> <p>In July 2012, I will be travelling to South Africa with nine young people and two other leaders to help with a charity called <strong>Arise</strong> who work with vulnerable children.&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.917969); color: #000000;">We have raised enough money to pay for our flights: any money donated now will be used to fund our living costs for the two weeks that we are in South Africa and the project we plan to undertake whilst there.&nbsp; All extra funds after expenses will go directly to support the continuing work of Arise.</span></p> <p>I will be running a half marathon in Wokingham on the 19th Feb 2012 with 3 other members of my church to raise funds.</p> <p>Arise work in a poor community in the outskirts of Cape Town in an area called the Cape Flats.&nbsp; Arise has a special connection as it was set up five years ago by a young lady, Debbie, who grew up in my church before moving to South Africa.&nbsp;</p> <p>Debbie, together with her husband Alun, does incredible and practical work.&nbsp; Arise works with children who might find themselves in crisis because of <strong>abuse, severe neglect, abandonment, homelessness, parents imprisonment, parents who are sick and unable to find employment or children on drugs</strong>.</p> <p>If you click to pay, proceeds will go to my church, the Church of the Good Shepherd, who are handling the money for us.</p> <p>If you have any questions, I'd be delighted to answer them.</p> </div>
