My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
On the 25th April 2010 I will be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon, in memory of our good friend Dave "the fat cat" Gellett. I will be running for a very worthwhile charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (www.c-r-y.org.uk) and with your help hope to raise over £1,600. So please pledge what you can, any amount great or small will be very much appreciated.
A bit about the charity I will be running for.........
It is known that at least 12 deaths a week in the young (under 35) are due to cardiovascular conditions – that
is 600 deaths a year in the and this may just be the tip of the iceberg!
Help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) prevent these tragedies
CRY raises awareness of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) and sudden arrhythmic death syndrome
(SADS) and provides medical information on cardiac abnormalities that can lead to the sudden death of a
young person. Through our network of affected families and counselling CRY offers support to others who
have suffered a similar loss. CRY runs a number of screening clinics and operates mobile cardiac screening
and ECG testing programmes within local communities. CRY also contributes to medical research.

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
