Story

Thanks for coming to my page.

The Marathon des Sables is an ultra aka "daft" marathon and involves running 150 miles in 6 days across the Moroccan Sahara, with everything I will need on my back.  I have wanted to do it for a long time and two years ago I felt physically, mentally and financially strong enough to enter.  So I did and now I find myself getting the butterflies that precede a good old adventure.  Naturally, given the fact I won’t be doing these things every week, I wanted to raise money for two important charities that personally mean a great deal to me and to people close to me.  I have included some details about why this charity is important to me plus a link to my other site below.

I appreciate any support you are able to offer and it will make me push on when it gets tough knowing that charities will benefit from my crazy desire to run across a desert.

Cancer Research

At the age of 25, my mum lost her own mum to ovarian cancer.  A little known cancer, it has undoubtedly had a mark on my own family and many others. Now that I am 25 myself, it has made me more aware than ever of what a loss this is.  Through Cancer Research, I hope to do my bit to raise awareness of all forms of cancer and help in the fight to develop treatments and cures.
