We are asking you to sponsor us to do a 12k walk in aid of the Colo-rectal Foundation, undoubtedly the least glamorous charity that you will ever consider sponsoring.

Twelve months ago, I would have run 12k but these days that’s just not possible as coping with this condition and maintaining something approaching a normal existence for a young woman is quite a battle on a daily basis.  Bowel disease is not a nice thing to talk about.  It’s really not a nice thing to live with although that is something that I and many other sufferers simply have to accept.  At the moment, for those of us who suffer from recurrent illness, the option is either a massive operation or lifelong drugs, frequent periods of illness and a significantly altered lifestyle.  The Colo-rectal Foundation is a charity that funds research into new treatments for ulcerative colitis, Chron’s disease and bowel cancer and is led by my surgeon and a team of medics at St George’s hospital.  I think many of you know how much of a difference my team of doctors have made to me, and I would be extremely grateful if you would consider sponsoring us to raise money to support these fantastic medics in their work.

Many thanks for your support
