“A Year of Pain to Save Lives”
We are making a New Year resolution that will bring us personal pain for twelve months as we raise money to help the Surrey Air Ambulance save lives.
The Surrey Air Ambulance has flown over 1200 missions since June 2007 averaging 2 per day and each mission costs around £2000, with virtually all funding coming from public donations.
THE GOLDEN HOUR - R Adams Cowley from Kent Air Ambulance Quote's
There is a golden hour between life and death.
If you are critically injured, you have less than 60 minutes to survive.
You might not right then; it might be three days later or two weeks later.
But something has happened in your body that is irreparable.
Is this a service that we can do without?
We are planning on doing an 'endurance event' a month for a year ranging from a short 7 mile X-country run to the Ironman Triathlon UK, please see list below.
31 January 2010 – The Riot Runner – A 7 mile cross country run
20 February 2010 – Big Cow Dualathlon – 4.5km run, 16km cycle, 4.5km run
