Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

It helps young people, under the age of 30, diagnosed with cancer living in the West Midlands, or in special circumstances being treated in the West Midlands, by issuing grants of up to £300 per patient per annum, for basic everyday living expenses whilst undergoing treatment for cancer.

Story

Thank you for visiting my Flora London Marathon 2008 fundraising page.

I'm so pleased to have had the opportunity to run this marathon again, but also so sad because this year I was running in memory of my young nephew who died in February 2007 aged just 20.

I  finished in 4hr 37mins this time! A vast improvement on last year and a great time for me... Sub 4 hours next time!!

Cancer knows no barriers and doesn't care who it afflicts.  That's why I've decided to raise money for the Paul Ackrill Fund so that they might keep up their great work supporting young people diagnosed with cancer. Often a parent or carer may have to give up work to look after them, without the benefit of insurance cover, and financial stress is the last thing anyone needs during this time.

Please dig deep and sponsor me online.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure and it's also the most efficient way to sponsor me.

The Paul Ackrill Memorial Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
