For those who don`t know me, my passion is to ride my 1997 BMW R1100GS to far flung places and love to ride into the more inaccesible and exciting areas around the world, especially in the USA and Canada. I thrive on the challenge this form of travel brings and I`ve seen some fantastic places and met some great friends along the way.

My trip this year is a 4 week ride from San Francisco to Prudhoe Bay in Alaska and back. I`ll be riding with my cousin James, his wife Polly, who live in San Francisco, and a friend called Robbie who lives on Oregon.  Prudhoe Bay is above the Arctic Circle and is one of the most northerly points you can get to in the USA . It is still one of the great road trips and represents a great adventure, especially on 2 wheels. We will be riding on some world famous roads such as the Alcan Highway, the Haul Road, the Dempster Highway and Top of the World Highway. It will be a great challenge on my trusty old BMW, especially if it`s raining!!

With any luck, we will also spot some of the wildlife such as Grizzly Bear, Moose, Caribou and Golden Eagles. 

I`ve decided this year to raise money and bring awareness to the Acorns Childrens Hospice based in the Midlands as they do the most fantastic work with children. They also give comfort and respite to their families through some very difficult times.

I`ve been fortunate enough to have been blessed with 2 fantastic kids who are now adults embarking on real life. They have never really had a moments sickness and I really count my blessings so I want to give something back to those far less fortunate.
