We fund research into blinding eye diseases to find new treatments and therapies

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have done some 'mad' events in the past to support Gift of Sight, cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats and also a skydive but these were both easy in comparison to swimming 10km. So much so my training started in January and will involve swimming three to four times a week until the event. When the weather is warmer this will include open water swimming.

I am supporting Gift of Sight as they are a charity very close to my heart and doing vital research into eye disorders. In the last decade they have made major break-throughs helping to stop certain eye conditions and save the sight of many people who would otherwise have lost it. They are still striving to find more treatments for many sight disorders including macular degeneration, glaucoma, nystagmus and cone dystrophy. All of these conditions have a major effect on the quality of life for those affected. The charity relies heavily on donations to fund the research and I thank you for your support.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
